I was debating whether or not to have a separate blog for this but I wanted to keep my thoughts on one page. So Eevan is doing this with his China team and now a few of us from the small group are posting. So, chapter a day!
Real Bread
So after Jesus feeds the five thousand, the people want to crown him so he makes his getaway. They finally find him in Capernaum and Jesus preaches to them.
v.40 "For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."
Dude, real eternal life. v.49 he says, "Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven (talking about himself), which a man may eat and not die."
He compares the earthly mindset to the heavenly mindset, death to life. v. 63 "The spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing." Jesus is like "guys, step yo game up". There's more to life than just living 70 years and then kaput. Let's know God. Thank you Jesus for defeating death and giving eternal life.
